Etiquette, Privacy, and Dungeon Monitoring
Dungeon etiquette protects participants' ability to consent and enjoy a shared space.
Consent in shared space
Do not touch, photograph, record, interrupt, or join without permission. Respect room boundaries, venue policies, and other people’s privacy.
Staff and reporting
Know who can respond to a concern, when immediate intervention is appropriate, and what confidentiality limitations apply.
Understanding the subject
Attendance is not consent to touch, observation, photographs, recording, or joining a scene. Venues differ in rules for phones, spectators, equipment, cleaning, alcohol, and intervention. Dungeon Monitors help enforce venue policy and respond to concerns, but they cannot replace participant responsibility or professional emergency services.
Applying the knowledge responsibly
Ask before touching anyone or their belongings. Respect closed rooms, posted capacity, and aftercare spaces. Learn how to report an incident and what confidentiality can and cannot be promised. Do not publish a private venue's address or identify attendees without permission.
