Founded in 2026, Sanctum Eros is an independently operated, LGBTQ+ inclusive kink and alternative-lifestyle organization based in Central Illinois. Created by Eros, Sanctum Eros exists to provide adults with opportunities to connect, learn, socialize, and explore their interests in an environment that values individuality, informed consent, personal autonomy, and mutual respect.
While our private, residential BDSM dungeon is an important part of Sanctum Eros, it does not define the entirety of the organization.
Sanctum Eros brings together social gatherings, educational opportunities, community events, discussions, and private play experiences. Some events welcome the broader adult community without requiring membership, while others are reserved for vetted members. Whether someone is entirely new to kink, an experienced practitioner, or simply curious about alternative lifestyles, there is room for meaningful participation.
We recognize that kink is not a singular experience. It encompasses an extraordinary range of identities, interests, relationships, dynamics, and forms of expression. No two people explore it in exactly the same way, nor should they be expected to.
Our approach emphasizes education over assumptions, communication over expectation, and consent over entitlement. Through orientations, educational resources, community standards, and opportunities for continued learning, we encourage participants to develop the knowledge and confidence necessary to make informed decisions about their experiences.
Sanctum Eros is intentionally welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous individuals, and others who have historically encountered exclusion or judgment in conventional social spaces. Inclusivity is not simply a statement of acceptance; it is an ongoing responsibility reflected in how we operate, communicate, and hold people accountable.
We also recognize that community cannot be built through rules and equipment alone. It requires trust, consistency, compassion, accountability, and a willingness to listen.
Sanctum Eros is not intended to be an exclusive social circle, a place where experience determines someone’s worth, or an environment where participation in play is expected. Friendship, education, conversation, and simply enjoying the company of like-minded adults are equally valid reasons to participate.
You do not have to play to belong. You do not have to be experienced to learn. You do not have to fit someone else’s expectations to be welcome.
At its heart, Sanctum Eros is an evolving community built around the belief that adults deserve spaces where they can explore who they are without sacrificing their dignity, boundaries, or individuality.

To cultivate an inclusive, informed, and accountable kink community where adults are empowered to connect, learn, express themselves, and explore their interests through consent, education, and mutual respect.
Sanctum Eros is committed to reducing the barriers that prevent people from engaging with kink and alternative lifestyles, whether those barriers arise from stigma, inexperience, isolation, misinformation, or exclusion.
Our mission extends beyond providing a physical space for BDSM activities. We seek to strengthen the broader community by encouraging meaningful relationships, accessible education, responsible exploration, and a culture in which personal boundaries are respected without question.
We believe that:
- Consent is fundamental. Every individual retains authority over their own body, boundaries, and participation. Consent must be informed, voluntary, ongoing, and revocable.
- Education is a responsibility. Knowledge, preparation, communication, and risk awareness are essential to responsible exploration, regardless of experience.
- Community extends beyond play. Friendships, conversations, social gatherings, mentorship, and shared experiences are just as valuable as activities within a dungeon.
- Inclusivity requires action. People of all backgrounds, orientations, gender identities, relationship structures, and experience levels deserve dignity, equitable treatment, and opportunities to participate.
- Accountability protects community. Respectful conduct, transparent expectations, and meaningful responses to misconduct are necessary to maintain trust.
- Exploration is personal. No individual should feel pressured to participate, perform, adopt a particular identity, or pursue interests beyond their comfort level.
Our goal is not to define what kink should look like for everyone. It is to help create the conditions in which people can discover what it means to them.
Sanctum Eros exists to make room for curiosity without pressure, expression without shame, and connection without compromising consent.
